The Human Style project was a new developer clothing brand. A fully custom e-commerce website with the sole goal of automating the purchase, production and delivery of the products to the customers. The website was a fully custom built Laravel project with a Vue.js & Tailwind CSS frontend alongside Stripe & Printful API integrations for the backend automation. It managed users’ details in a safe and secure manner as Stripe managed all of the financial card information and the user's address and personal information was all encrypted within the database.
My main tech takeaway was the use of Tailwind CSS. I had used it for some smaller projects but this was the first time I had used it for a full website built. Once I got used to the syntax building pages was extremely quick and really helped speed the build along.
My biggest non-tech takeaway was the importance of having the right people in the right positions to help the business. My lack of marketing knowledge at the time meant I had not marketed the products in an efficient manner and subsequently closed the business. I would have benefitted from either a marketing manager or coach to help me get the most out of my marketing strategy. This is why I instructed my first accountant for this project so why didn’t I expand that idea to the marketing side?
